Preparing before the newborn photoshoot: the steps to follow.
Ideally, keep baby awake for 1 to 2 hours before the photoshoot. It's not easy, but if baby takes a while to fall asleep, it will prolong the session.
Before the session, give him a good bath, this will help him relax and feel good.
Put light clothes on him that are easy to remove without going through his head.
Remember to take a comforter and a pacifier even if the baby doesn't have one or doesn't take it with you.
Try as much as possible to schedule the last feeding or bottle at the beginning of the session.
If you are breastfeeding your baby, avoid eating asparagus, onions, pickles, broccoli, cabbage and potential allergens: strawberries, peanuts, etc. for 2 days beforehand. (These foods can cause or worsen colic.)
Bring wipes or gloves as well as a change of diapers because sometimes the baby relieves himself during the session.
Take any object that is close to your heart or represents your passions
As well as the outfits you would like baby to wear.
Throughout the photoshoot, for home sessions, I will ask you to maintain a temperature of 23 to 26 degrees. In order to ensure the well-being of your baby who will pose naked or very naked. And remember to drink plenty of fluids, especially if you are breastfeeding.
The sound atmosphere
During the photoshoot, white noise will be used to soothe your baby. The sound is loud enough to remind him of the noise in utero and to calm him during periods of handling.
This sound is similar to the sound your baby heard while still in your womb. It helps create a soundscape that's closer to what you'd hear in utero.
